Italian Tuna and White Bean Salad

Featuring Newman’s Own® Italian Dressing

Serves: 2
Preparation time: 10 minutes / Cooking time: about 2-6 minutes


50 g green beans, ends trimmed and halved
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
freshly ground black pepper
2 x 150 g tuna steaks
125 g baby plum or cherry tomatoes, halved
2 teaspoons capers, rinsed
400 g cannellini beans, in water drained
8 pitted black olives
3 tablespoons Newman’s Own Italian Dressing





1. Cook the green beans in a pan of boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain and refresh under cold water.

2. In a small dish, mix together the oil, lemon rind and seasoning. Add the tuna and turn to coat.

3. Heat a griddle pan over a high heat, add the tuna and griddle the tuna for 1 minute each side for rare, 2 minutes each side medium or 3 each side well done.

4. Place the green beans, tomatoes, capers, cannellini beans and olives in a bowl. Drizzle over the Italian dressing and gently toss all the ingredients together. Divide between 2 plates, then top with the tuna. Serve immediately.
